ESL

Welcome to ESL class!
Why do we have an ESL class?

ESL (English as a Second Language) class intends to develop reading, writing, speaking,  listening, grammar, note taking , pronunciation skills of English language learners  and help them to succeed in mainstream classes, acquire academic language in main courses.

Who are our English language learners?

ESL students are newcomers to the country and to the school community, whose family language is other than English.  We know do they need our service and support write after they take English proficiency or placement test (W-APT or Module). Each form of the test assesses the four language domains of Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing, this way we are getting  information that is used to enhance instruction and learning for ELLs.
